A lasting gift for Valentine’s Day

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt about love in my lifetime, is it can come in all shapes and sizes. Short and sweet, fleeting or ever-lasting. It can be felt through different relationships too, friends, family, neighbours, and partners, and whilst I’m a firm believer in showing someone they mean something to you every day, for me, Valentine’s Day is a moment in time to ensure that special someone’s heart is fully topped up with love.

I’d hazard a guess and say that it’s most likely the busiest day of a florist’s calendar as orders of red roses are ever-flowing; a single red rose, a dozen red roses, or bundles of bouquets to fill a room, they’re definitely the flower of the moment, but this year how about expressing love through a gesture that will last longer than saying the words “I love you”.

I do love a list it has to be said, but as I write this I realise it’s more a curation of thoughtful gestures, moments and memories that could make this Valentine’s Day one to remember.

How can I make this Valentine's Day special with unique gifts?

Valentine's Day is a day of romance and love and you want to make it extra special for your loved one. Instead of the usual Valentine's gift like chocolates and flowers, why not think outside the box? Consider giving a piece of women’s jewellery or a chic earring that will be a lasting memory of your perfect Valentine's Day. You can also opt for preserved roses or a bouquet of faux flowers to show how much you care.

Say it with faux flowers

Designed to be long-lasting, artificial flowers require minimal maintenance compared to fresh flowers and always maintain their beauty. It is safe to say that artificial flowers are a popular investment for our homes. The high quality of materials and craftsmanship used in their creation results in a realistic appearance that often makes it difficult to distinguish them from fresh flowers. This Valentine's Day, express your love with a luxurious bouquet that will continue to delight for years to come.

Artificial flowers are an excellent option for those who desire the beauty of flowers without the need for care. They are especially ideal for individuals with allergies or pets that may be sensitive to fresh flowers. When selecting artificial flowers, choose high-quality options made with materials like silk or latex for a lifelike look that will impress even the most discerning individuals. Whether placed in a vase on the dining table or used as a centrepiece on the mantel, artificial flowers make for a classic gift that brings happiness and elegance to any space.

Say it with home accessories

Valentine’s Day is a moment in time where you celebrate love and what better way to express your affection than with home accessories? Finding the perfect gift for your loved one can be tricky, but our ultimate list of Valentine's Day gifts includes everything from faux flowers to beautiful homeware. Imagine your partner waking up to a beautiful bouquet and a box of luxurious chocolate truffles. And if you want to go beyond the traditions of chocolates and flowers this is where our homewear pieces step in. Whether it’s for a console table, media wall or coffee table, clustering accessories by height is a great way to bring depth to a room. I personally love our light grey patterned jar and ginger jar, taking a matching pattern with alternative shaped jars, or two of the same jars in different heights to create a luxurious look.

The thoughtfulness behind each carefully hand-picked item shows just how much you care. With our home decor collection, you can create a romantic atmosphere that will make Valentine’s Day one to remember.

Say it with food

I couldn’t create a feature on Valentine’s Day without mentioning food, it’s a personal love story of mine! Whilst I’m sure every restaurant up and down the country will have a delicious Valentine’s Day menu on the table, a home-cooked meal can be just as thoughtful. If you’re a stranger to the kitchen perhaps a more simple dish of steak and chips may be slightly less daunting. That being said, I love the recipes featured on delicious.co.uk, there’s a recipe to suit all levels of cooking experience and will make you feel like a top chef in the kitchen. For dessert? You can’t go wrong with this flourless chocolate cake this Valentine’s Day. Simple to bake, from experience it will honestly melt in your mouth. Serve with fresh strawberries or raspberries and add a dash of cream for that restaurant-perfect finish.
